The results of investigations from mainstream research show four levels of language that are affected by the influence of L1, but academic writing does not only consist of physical processes and their output. There is a significant process that can determine the occurrence of this interference, namely the prewriting process. This study examines the prewriting process in the form of a thinking process with the language used. The results of research conducted on students of the English Language Education study program at University of Timor in 2024-2025, found three stages of mental processes that fall into the category of psycholinguistics (encoding), namely determining basic ideas and concepts (using local languages), constructing structured ideas and concepts (using creole languages), and finalizing ideas and concepts (using Bahasa Indonesia). The reasons for the interference of Indonesian into English in the draft of the student's research proposal were also found because Indonesian is included in the Language Learning (LL) group while other languages are acquired languages (LA) where previous studies have not clearly make boundaries and differences between them.
Yandres A. The ethnoculture in question refers to the values of local wisdom derived from the culture of the local community, such as manners, mutual cooperation, tolerance, responsibility, and good manners. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method carried out on one of the campuses in West Sulawesi, especially on students of Al Asyariah Mandar University. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that ethnocultural integration in learning is able to create a learning environment that is more contextual, meaningful, and relevant to student life. Cultural values instilled in subject matter and campus activities have proven to be effective in shaping student character, such as respect for differences, discipline, and the spirit of togetherness. In addition, the involvement of lecturers and local communities is an important factor in the success of the ethnocultural implementation. Thus, ethnoculture-based learning can be used as an alternative strategy in character education that is not only academically oriented, but also on the formation of personalities rooted in the nation's culture.
Wahyuddin Copyright (c) 2026 UNSULBAR National Conference on Multidiciplinary Research 2026-04-22 2026-04-22 1 1 8 14 PERUBAHAN SOSIAL BUDAYA MASYARAKAT DI LINGKUNGAN PANTAI BAHARI POLEWALI MANDAR https://proceedings.unsulbar.ac.id/index.php/research/article/view/64
This study aims to analyze socio-cultural changes in the community surrounding the Bahari Beach Tourism area in Polewali Mandar and the factors influencing these changes. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Research informants were selected using a snowball sampling technique involving community leaders, village officials, youth, and business actors around the tourism area. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, and the validity of the data was ensured through source triangulation. The findings indicate that socio-cultural changes occur across structural, cultural, and interactional dimensions. The driving factors of these changes include the increasing flow of tourists, the development of information technology, population dynamics, and external cultural influences. These changes have led to shifts in social values, behavioral patterns, and lifestyles of the local community, while simultaneously creating new economic opportunities in the tourism sector. The findings of this study are expected to serve as a reference for the development of sustainable tourism while maintaining the preservation of local values and cultural wisdom.
Chuduriah Sahabuddin Sukmawati Wahyuddin Copyright (c) 2026 UNSULBAR National Conference on Multidiciplinary Research 2026-04-22 2026-04-22 1 1 15 17
